In this post I’m going to be covering some of the major symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue and Thyroid Problems, how they differ and then the foods that will be most beneficial for each.
Adrenal Symptoms
Tired in the morning
Tired after lunch (need of a nap)
Wakes up in the evening closer to bedtime
Craves salt
Difficulty sleeping (wakes at 2:00am trouble falling back to sleep)
The adrenals need quality fats that are higher in cholesterol or are saturated as all the adrenal hormones are made from cholesterol.
In addition, the adrenals are the anti-inflammatory glands of the body and it is inflammation that will stress and fatigue these glands over time. So the adrenals require lots of anti-inflammatory foods like berries, hemp seeds and wild caught sablefish.
Thyroid Rationale
For the thyroid we want proteins that are high in the amino acid tyrosine because the thyroid needs tyrosine to manufacture iodine. We also want foods high in selenium and iodine like eggs and brazil nuts.

I was definitely a HUGE skeptic, BUT I felt so bad I thought what can I lose but some money. I was overweight, tired, foggy brain, inability to sleep and hot flashes. I started right before Thanksgiving and even throughout the holidays and extensive travel, I have lost 23 pounds. More than the weight loss I feel so much better. I have energy, can sleep and my body feels great. Word to the wise, this isn’t magic, they change your diet significantly, but you can do it. The supplements helped significantly and I never felt hungry. It is a little expensive but for anyone considering this, think about the money you will save from not eating as much or going out to dinner etc. I am thankful my skepticism didn’t stop me from trying this because it has been amazing for me.
