Waking up in the middle of the night for some people may seem normal, but in truth, it maybe due to the inability of your body to produce an important hormone called vasopressin.

Vasopressin shuts your kidneys off while you sleep so your body can get into REM sleep. During REM sleep your brain cleans out debris and re-balances it’s neurochemistry.  The inability to release proper amounts of vasopressin and get into REM sleep is sometimes related to various malfunctions of the adrenal glands.
