Achieving Goals – I know one thing’s for sure, I am loving this woman’s body goals and magnetic energy! Jean Deprano won multiple gold medals at 75 years young, putting all questions to rest that she is indeed the fastest 75 years young woman on the planet!  In this video, Jean shares a snippet of her growing up, and some amazing life-changing mottos on diet, exercise and her outlook on her body.  You definitely want to check this out!

Some amazing takeaways from my interview with Jean are:

  • Make your goal to eat 80% living foods every day.  The ultimate goal is to remove those packaged foods from your grocery cart!  I know labs_femalefor many, this idea can seem overwhelming so start slow.  Starting out, find an item that would be easy for you to remove.  Remove one thing from your diet for six weeks.  Once you’ve successfully removed this particular item, move on to the next thing.  Take baby steps and set your goals to realistic standards.  Instead of eliminating dairy from your diet as a whole, take out cheeses first.  Soon enough, you’ll begin to feel the difference and you’ll be encouraged and motivated to move forward achieving goals.
  • Get moving! One of the best exercises we can incorporate into our day is walking.  Walking is low impact and provides many benefits to the body such as, maintaining a low body weight, enhanced mental wellbeing, reduces the risk of cancer, coronary heart disease, and osteoporosis.  One recent study performed by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress showed that just by incorporating 20-25 minutes of low impact walking to your daily regimen, increased your lifespan by 7 years!  That is astonishing!  Jean suggests walking on grass-covered, flat surfaces to decrease the impact on your joints.  Her philosophy has been that even a daily low impact exercise such as walking can impact your joints. Jean has found that her go-to place is a well-kept soccer field to achieve these goals.
  • Listen to your body.  When your body is giving you a symptom, this is your body’s way of telling you that something is not right.  Honor your body by striving to fix the source of the symptom instead of covering up the symptom.
